All Chapter Members and Penn State fans are invited to the NW FL-Tallahassee Chapter's THON Card Making Event on January 28, 2012, at Noon. The Chapter will have lunch and then begin making cards to encourage and thank all of the THON dancers. Please visit www.thon.org to learn more about THON and to make a donation. Lets Go Lions!!! The Chapter is continuing to help the less fortunate in Tallahassee by collecting non-perishable food items and clothing to donate to the Refuge House. The Chapter requests that all Chapter Members and Penn State Fans bring non-perishable food items and clothing to each Chapter event in Spring 2012. The Chapter thanks all Chapter members for their support of our Refuge House food and clothing drive!!! Here is a message from the Penn State Alumni Association:

Throughout the past week we have struggled with the sadness, anger, and disbelief that has rocked our beloved Penn State. Our willingness and ability to represent Penn State and our alumni has been and will continue to be impressive and appreciated.

Today, on the national stage, we continue to show our range of emotions and we have the opportunity and responsibility to display the true Penn State spirit and values. So, over the past week many if not all of you have asked, "What can we do?" The Penn State Alumni Association is proud to help support a grassroots effort by local alumnus, Jerry Needel '98, and several others to establish www.proudtobeapennstater.com. To help in showing what Penn Staters are truly about, the group partnered with www.RAINN.org, the largest anti-sexual violence organization in the country. The goal is to raise over $500,000 - at least $1 for each PSU alumni.

The Penn State Alumni Association has requested that our group help to begin to heal Penn State by visiting www.proudtobeapennstater.com and donating today! Please spread the word about www.proudtobeapennstater.com and www.RAINN.org. We are encouraged to donate today so we can help the Penn State Alumni Association reach its $500,000 goal!

All Penn State Alumni have an awesome responsibility to help our beloved Alma Mater return to her ideals. We have done so much throughout this past week - let it continue today!

God Bless Joe Paterno, the Paterno Family, Penn State University and all Penn Staters everywhere! We love you JoePa and thank you for all you have done for Penn State, the State of Pennsylvania and college football! All Penn State Alumni and Students will carry on JoePa's legacy and ideals. The Paterno Family requests that anyone wishing to honor JoePa and his amazing contributions to Penn State donate to the Pennsylvania Special Olympics or to the Penn State Dance Marathon (THON).
